This page is dedicated to my boyfriend, Peter Illig. I love collecting cool stuff and running shows, but my real passion is HIM. And, this is MY website, so I can do whatever I want! LOL.

If you're just someone looking for cool toy shows in Colorado, you might not care about this. But, maybe you're like me, and you love hearing a good love story....

Anyway, I suppose this is the modern-day-equivalent of "shouting my love from the roof tops." So, here goes...

UPDATE: DECEMBER 2007..... Pete and I have been together almost 3 years and life is STILL FABULOUS! In 2006, he retired early from teaching High School Art, so we're both home all day together and LOVING IT! Life in Pete&DanaLand...

I met Peter on January 1, 2005, through Match.com!!! By the end of January, we had become basically inseperable.

Many of you have met Peter at one of the shows. He's always there with me, helping out and chatting with dealers. He loves this stuff, too. After the last Supershow, he and I had a great "tracer-jet war" with the toy guns we bought that day! We're the same age, and we both have fond memories of shooting tracer jets with our brothers, back in the 1960s! (Do you remember tracer jets? Those little plastic flying disks that wound up all over the house?) Peter and I have so much in common!

After more than a year together, we still have not had our first fight (unless you count the tracer jet incident...)! We are blissfully happy - now living together - and have had many fun adventures!

Our first road trip was to Santa Fe during Spring Break (In addition to being a prolific working artist, Pete's a High School Art Teacher!). We loved Santa Fe and visited tons of art galleries!

We both love to travel, and in June, Peter took me to London and Paris for 8 days! We hit every art museum and flea market there was! It was a blast!

Here we are at the Louvre in Paris! Talk about a GREAT COLLECTION! YIKES! We feasted our eyes - and KILLED our feet at this one!

 

We went EVERYWHERE on the subways in London and Paris. It was an adventure!

 

We went to a real London pub and drank up! Did I mention Pete collects Logo shirts?

After our exciting summer, we settled in for Fall, and Pete when back to teach ART at Rangeview High School in Aurora, CO. He's been a High School Art Teacher for 25 years now! How cool is that??!!

More Exciting Pete Facts:

- A native of East Aurora, NY (near Buffalo), he rode his bike to FLORIDA - and back - at age 17!

- An avid mountain climber in younger years, he's been to the top of Mt. Ranier, Mt. Shasta, Mt. Evans and lots of others!

- His father, C.W. Illig, was a well-known regional artist in western New York, and taught classes in their home when Pete was a kid.

- He loves vintage cars - especially European sports cars! He's owned and restored lots of them - including a red Jaguar XKE, a Lotus Esprit, some Alfa Romeos and lots more!

- He's represented at three art galleries in Denver - Plus Gallery, Pirate: A Contemporary Art Oasis, and Spark Gallery. He also has work in Group Shows, so he's very high profile on the Denver Art Scene - and the press just LOVES him!
